Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide essential support in an elementary school setting, serving students from kindergarten through 5th grade. The role is based onsite in Mobile, Alabama, at an elementary school, with a contract position lasting from March 2025 through the end of May 2026. This assignment offers a consistent 35-hour workweek, working directly with young learners to support their speech and language development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of speech and language therapy plans developed by Speech Language Pathologists.
  • Work directly with students in grades K5 to improve articulation, communication, and language comprehension.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state guidelines.
  • Collaborate with teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other educational staff to support student goals.
  • Participate in case conferences and contribute to the development of individualized education programs (IEPs).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current registration with the Board of Speech Examiners is required.
  • SLPA licensure issued by the Alabama Department of Education is applicable for direct hire but not required for this contract role.
  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to follow directions and adapt to the needs of diverse learners.
