Job Title: Operating Room First Assist – Day Shift Location: Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, NC Schedule: 6:45 AM – 4:45 PM (10-hour shifts) Assignment Type: Travel Contract

Overview: Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Room First Assist to join its surgical team for a travel assignment. This role involves supporting surgeons during procedures and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct assistance to surgeons during operative procedures
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field and surgical instruments
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments
• Assist with wound closure, hemostasis, and other intraoperative tasks
• Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure safe and efficient procedures
• Document patient care accurately and timely

Qualifications:

• Active RNFA certification or First Assist credential (required)
• Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact license)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent operating room experience required
• BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in general, orthopedic, and vascular procedures

Required Education:

• Completion of an accredited First Assist program with current FA certification
